This Week’s Message – “Trouble Expected”

Following Jesus isn’t meant to be easy. In fact, Jesus tells His disciples to expect the worst, the very worst, for their faith in Him. Yet, we are not left without hope or without help. Jesus promises we won’t be alone on our journey because we will have a strong guide leading our way. This week, we’ll study Jesus’ warning to disciples, the comfort He offers them, and how we can apply it to our lives today.

Let the Evidence Speak — April 11
Our next event will be online via Zoom on Fri., Apr. 11, at 7:00pm. Reasons to Believe scholar Dr. Gary Lee will be our speaker. Good Friday — April 18
On Good Friday, Apr. 18, join us at 5:30pm as we take time to be still and remember Christ’s sacrifice for us, and take communion together. Childcare will be available for ages 0-3.
Easter Egg Hunt — April 19
Invite your friends and neighbors to our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sat., Apr. 19, at 11:00am! This event is free and open to the community. We’ll kick off a fun day with separate hunts for different age groups, story time, and more. All are welcome!
Easter Sunday — April 20
Mark your calendar for Easter Sunday on April 20! That morning at 9:30am, we will gather as a church family in the gym to celebrate together Christ’s resurrection with food and fellowship. Elementary through high school students are invited to start with the brunch celebration in the gym, then at about 9:50 their leaders will bring them to their regular rooms to continue the morning. We will then move over to the Worship Center for a special Easter service at 10:45am. Nursery and Pre-K/Kinder classes will meet as usual throughout the morning.

This year marks the 85th anniversary of Bridges/FBCLA! As we work on a special way to celebrate this milestone, we need your help. Bridges Staff Position(s) Opening Soon
Bridges is looking for an energetic, ministry-minded person (or people!) who loves young children. Kathy Spillar will be stepping down soon from her various positions, which include Preschool Sunday School Coordinator, as well as Administrative Assistant for both Family Ministries and Missions/Outreach. LACS Now Hiring and Enrolling for This Fall
Los Altos Christian School is now hiring a variety of positions for the upcoming school year this fall, including an elementary resource teacher, elementary teacher(s), middle school teacher(s), teaching assistants, extended day program staff, and substitute teachers. Click HERE for more info!

Kamp Kindle — June 23-27
Elementary students! Join us this summer at Kamp Kindle, June 23-27, 2:00-5:15pm daily at Bridges. This awesome week is Bible camp meets special interest camp, offering separate tracks for ages 6-12 in basketball, table tennis, cooking, and “Makers” — a combo of art and woodworking. Kamp Kindle aims to encourage, equip, and support young hearts and minds to pursue God and the interests He has placed in them. Click HERE for info and to register!
Silicon Valley MobilePack — May 2 & 3
In partnership with Feed My Starving Children and Orchard Valley Christian Church, we will be packing 210,000 meals for hungry children on May 2 & 3 at Bridges. Priority registration is now open through April 6! Register early because it fills up fast. Volunteers must be at least 5 years old. Los Angeles Wildfire Relief
While the Los Angeles fires that originated in the Pacific Palisades have been contained, we are continuing to pray for those impacted by the widespread devastation. The Salvation Army is still collecting donations for Wildfire Relief, so if you would like to further support their efforts in LA, click HERE.
Help Feed Dinner to Local Homeless
Join MUCH Hope as they serve local homeless at a shelter in San Jose by providing monthly dinners. Lots of help is needed whether it’s for 30 minutes or 2 hours!
